Job summary

Northrop Grumman in San Diego is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 1 to perform lay-up and panel fabrication in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.

The role requires reading and interpreting blueprints or shop drawings, basic arithmetic, and the ability to work under limited supervision. A high school diploma and 0-2+ years in composites are expected; U.S. Citizenship is required. Experience with prep, lay-up and bonding of composite products is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in composites/manufacturing environment preferred.
• Able to read, write and work to written instructions, blueprints, or shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Handling and managing fragile composite materials. Prep, lay-up and bonding of composite products.
• Experience with layup of uni-directional and weave pre-pregs.
• May report status/progress and interface with other employees and departments.
• Tooling preparation and release application.
• Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware.
• Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness.
• Execute to written instructions.
