• Develops procedures for use of tooling fixtures and shop aids.
• Produces operation sequences and build plans for complex products.
• Arranges machines for optimal plant layout and throughput.
• Supports engineering with design concepts and manufacturability insights.

From large multi-aircraft projects to small custom projects, LifePort supplies the industry’s largest aerospace OEMs and end users with the finest aviation solutions today.Position Summary:This position designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, material handling, and testing of metallic and composite materials.Essential Functions:Designs and manufactures tooling fixtures and shop aids to increase efficiency and standardization in production laborDevelops procedures for use of tooling fixtures and shop aidsDevelops procedures and operational sequences for build of complicated productReviews and/or develops operational sequence documentation for production technicians to followDesigns arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layoutAdapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditionsMay incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production planInvestigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product qualityDevelops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniquesProvides recommendations and assistance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniquesProvides assistance and support to production regarding engineering requirements to best utilize manufacturing techniques to obtain conforming product in the most practical and efficient manner.Support material and mechanical testing in the laboratory as needed to qualify, verify, or validate metallic and composite product.Manufacturing liaison supportEnsures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulationsCreates, designs and manipulates solid models, assemblies, layouts and detail drawingsKnowledge of quality and certification requirements in regulated manufacturing industries as required by the business (e.g. AS 9100, FAA, ISO 9001, Nadcap)Job Specifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multitaskExcellent organization skills with strong attention to detailExcellent teamwork skills and high degree of initiative requiredExcellent communication both written and verbalWork independently and possess a high level of self-motivation and initiativeProficient in CAD both 2D and 3DMust be proficient with MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Experience in SolidWorks and Enterprise PDM preferredEducation, Certifications and Experience:BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering0 - 4 years’ experienceMS degree no experience requiredPhysical Demands and Work Environment:Working conditions are normal for that of a manufacturing/machine shop/office environment.All employees are expected to adhere to Company safety policies and wear personal protective equipment when exposed to work areas or performing tasks where it is required.Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
