Job summary

Joby Aviation is seeking a Composite Hand Layup Scheduling Specialist to manage the production control board in the composite shop and ensure smooth build plan execution. This role requires adapting quickly in a fast-paced environment and a solid understanding of the layup process to support takt time and part quality.

The position involves coordinating with planning, engineering, and team leads across all shifts, maintaining schedule integrity, and enabling technicians to focus on lamination

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Intermediate computer skills for documentation and record-keeping.
• 1+ years planning or project management experience.
• 2+ years in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments.
• Ability to follow standardized work instructions and processes.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and wear PPE.
• No known allergies to epoxies or composite materials.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces.
• Ability to become forklift, crane, respirator, or equipment certified.
• Commitment to safety, attendance, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate production flow on the shop floor to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with MFG Eng to address equipment constraints and replacements.
• Ensure technicians work on parts suited to their skill level.
• Develop systems to document part complexity, team member skill, and setup capability.
• Maintain the physical and digital schedule boards and related materials.
• Ensure lamination molds are prepared and materials kitted for scheduled parts.
• Maintain 5S and organization; participate in daily standups.
• Respond quickly to technician requests and guide teams to solutions.
