Job summary

Visioneering Inc. in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Composite Laminator to join its aerospace tooling team.

You will perform lay-up, curing, trimming, bonding, and repair of composite components in a precision manufacturing environment, ensuring parts meet engineering specs and quality standards. The role requires basic experience with fiberglass, carbon fiber, Kevlar, and resins, with strict adherence to process instructions, safety guidelines, and ITAR controls.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years' experience laying up and/or working with epoxy, fiberglass, carbon fiber, BMI, graphite, or Kevlar
  • 1+ years' experience with vacuum bagging tools or parts and with industrial ovens or autoclaves (preferred)
  • General understanding of ply orientation (optional)

Responsibilities

  • Lay-up fiberglass/carbon fiber/Kevlar and similar materials
  • Ply cutting and orientation layup
  • De-bulking and vacuum bagging of tooling and parts
  • Potting and bonding of materials
  • Mix resins and hardeners to manufacturers specifications
  • Understand and follow QMS procedures and work instructions
  • Use and interpret work order travelers and manufacturing plans
  • Achieve quality and production goals
  • Follow OSHA safety guidelines and ITAR compliance
  • Other duties as assigned

Composite Laminator
Schedule:
Monday- Friday 6a-4:45p + Saturday 6a-12p
Summary Of Position
A Composite Laminator performs skilled hands‑on work in the fabrication, layup, curing, trimming, bonding, and repair of composite components. The role ensures parts are produced to engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements through precise material handling, adherence to ply books, and strict process control.

  • Lay-up fiberglass/carbon fiber/Kevlar and similar materials

Required Knowledge, Skills And Competencies
  • 1+ years' experience laying up and or working with one or all of the following materials: epoxy, fiberglass, carbon fiber, BMI, graphite, Kevlar. preferred but not required
  • 1+ years' experience with vacuum bagging of tools or parts, running industrial size ovens, running autoclave preferred but not required
  • General understanding of ply orientation preferred but not required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
