Job summary

WECTEC, a Westinghouse subsidiary, seeks a Composite Blade Technician in Piedmont, SC. You will inspect fiberglass blades, perform repairs, document findings, and report to the blade manager. The role requires extensive travel to sites across the United States.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, Wind Tech or equivalent program, and 2+ years of experience (or 1 year plus Wind Tech program). Training includes Tower Safety, LOTO, and suspended platform rigging.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• GWO BST, ART certificate.
• 100% travel required.
• High School Diploma / GED.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience OR minimum 1 year field experience AND graduate of a Wind Tech or accredited Program.
• Training will include and must have completed: Tower Safety Training, LOTO Training, Suspended Platform Rigging/De-Rigging.
• Pass Background Check and Drug Screening.
• Valid Driver's License (required to operate company vehicle).
• Must be able to stand, sit, push, pull, kneel, bend and lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• The Composite Blade Technician will be responsible for internal and external inspections, defect analysis, and up to Category 3-5 repair of fiberglass and composite blades, spinners, and nacelles from all brands and categories.
• Technicians will document findings and assemble all associated paperwork for action.
• Occasional maintenance support.
• Will travel (100%) to multiple projects throughout the United States.

• The Composite Blade Technician will be responsible for internal and external inspections, defect analysis, and up to Category 3- 5 repair of fiberglass and composite blades, spinners, and nacelles from all brands and categories. As a blade technician, you would report to the blade manager. Our client needs to determine the sites that you are required to report to, as they will ask you to travel.
• The technicians will require documenting the findings, and they will assemble all associated paperwork as they report for further action.
• Technicians will also provide occasional maintenance support.
• Will travel (100%) to multiple projects throughout the United States.
• Technicians may assign themselves other responsibilities to help proactively promote our vision and align with our organization's mission and values.

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• GWO BST, ART certificate
