Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is seeking an entry-level Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) Component Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team. This role offers hands-on experience in selecting, evaluating, and testing EEE components for defense programs.

You will work on BOM maintenance, part qualification, and obsolescence impact analysis, with growth opportunities in a mission-driven environment and potential security clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Fundamental understanding of electronic components, schematic diagrams, engineering drawings, and circuit card assembly concepts.
• US citizen and ability to obtain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Research component termination styles, encapsulation styles, and construction processes.
• Generate Vendor Identification Drawings and Source Control Drawings.
• Process change notices in Windchill for Part Bills of Materials and maintain engineering BOM.
• Maintain Windchill parts library for hardware.

What You Will Be Doing

The Associate Component Engineer will support the selection, evaluation, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of EEEE components across defense programs. Responsibilities may include:

• Researching component termination styles, plastic encapsulation styles, and component construction processes
• Generating Vendor Identification Drawings, Source Control Drawings (SCDs), and Altered Item Drawings
• Processing change notices and change orders in PTC Windchill for Part Bills of Materials and maintaining the engineering BOM in accordance with LM processes
• Maintaining the Windchill parts library for tactical and test stand hardware
• Developing component qualification test plans and executing part qualifications with test houses
• Developing component screenings for parts as directed by the Parts Management Process (PMP) plan
• Researching and determining the impact of Product Change Notifications (PCNs) and obsolescence on programs
• Reviewing parts in Siemens Expedition Library for approvals per PMP guidelines

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university
• Fundamental understanding of electronic components, schematic diagrams, engineering drawings, circuit card assembly concepts, parts assembly / parts management, etc.
• Must be a US citizen; must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance

Desired Skills

• Experience with parts standardization application and technology insertion within the design process.
• Knowledge of component selection, screening, qualification, and derating for use in military and aerospace flight applications.
• Experience with BOM (Bill of Material) development and management for developmental and production programs.
• Knowledge of circuit card and EEE parts/material manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of engineering specification requirements and interpretations.
• Experience with PTC Windchill.
• Proficiency with Silicon Expert and related obsolescence tools.
• Experience with Siemens expedition.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $58200.00 - $108200.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
