Position Purpose

Prepare all food items for the hotel outlets, based on standardized recipes while complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepare food items for customers using a quality predetermined method in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes, using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment such as blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, and tenderizers.
  • Operate large‑volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep‑fat fryers, or griddles.
  • Set up station with predetermined mise en place required to service all functions.
  • Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, boilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles.
  • Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  • Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity.
  • Set up complimentary breakfast areas, pull stock, complete pull sheets, and deliver to stewards.
  • Polish all glass, plates, and stemware; place food product in an appealing manner.
  • Greet guests, ensure proper access, and offer assistance.
  • Clean up after guests, maintain lounge, sweep, detail countertops, chafing dishes, cabinets, pantries, chairs, tables, dust mirrors, artwork, computer, desk, fax machine, display tables, windows, patio, trash, walls, entry doors, and highchairs.
  • Break down stations, return dirty dishes to kitchen, refill supplies; restock napkins, condiments; keep lounge clean for next shift.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by manager or supervisor.

  • Assist with any guest inquiry.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
Physical Demands
  • Work mainly indoors; may spend at least 75% of time indoors.
  • Work in extreme temperatures: freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F) for up to 1+ hour.
  • Stand, move, and maneuver for up to 4 hours continuously.
  • Lift up to 45 lbs.; push/pull carts and equipment up to 250 lbs.
  • Perform repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, hearing, smelling, tasting, and visual tasks.
  • Maintain continuous visual, hearing, and visual communication.
  • Work primarily with fingers to perform wrist and hand motions.

  • Food Handlers certification required.
Grooming & Attendance
  • Maintain neat, clean, and well‑groomed appearance per hotel standards.
  • Regular attendance; punctuality essential; disciplinary action for irregular attendance.
