Compliance Tech Analyst – East Valley

Position Summary

The Compliance Tech Analyst collaborates closely with the Compliance Pharmacist Specialist, Senior Medication Safety Specialist Pharmacist, and fellow Compliance Tech Analysts to support medication safety and regulatory compliance initiatives. This role promotes safe, high‑quality patient care, prevents diversion, and ensures compliance with pharmacy department policies as well as organizational, regulatory, and accreditation medication management standards. The incumbent will primarily work at the East Valley Hospital Campus and may travel to the Thomas Campus as needed for training and shift coverage.

Position Duties
  • Monitor the use of controlled and non‑controlled medications to prevent diversion and misuse across the healthcare system.
  • Use compliance analytics software and related system reports to monitor user transaction activity and identify potential diversion.
  • Assist in monitoring and analysis of scheduled and on‑demand diversion audits and tracking reports.
  • Perform technical duties required to identify, address, and resolve controlled substance transactions in ADCs.
  • Serve as an expert user for compliance analytics software and integrated organizational IT systems.
  • Support activities to maintain regulatory compliance and continuous survey readiness under the direction of the Compliance Pharmacist Specialist.
  • Prepare and analyze reports; monitor and track pharmacy department and relevant organizational policies to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain required documentation and files.
  • Assist in developing policies, procedures, reports, and tools to improve surveillance and monitoring of controlled substances.
  • Participate in organizational compliance, regulatory, and survey readiness committees.
  • Provide technical assistance for regulatory and accreditation surveys.
  • Access and provide requested reports, documentation, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Work with multiple departments (Pharmacy, Nursing, Quality, Risk, OBI, Legal, PCMG, Security, HR, Executive Leadership, etc.) to assure compliance with best practices, accreditation standards, statutes, and regulations.
  • Perform pharmacy department and organizational medication management inspections in ambulatory and inpatient care environments.
  • Perform pharmacy technician duties in patient care when needed.
  • Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as requested.
Position Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Four years of experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in an acute care environment or equivalent.
  • Experience with pharmacy medication management automation and systems or equivalent.
  • Experience with word processing software (Microsoft Word, Excel) or equivalent.
  • National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) or equivalent.
  • Must be registered and licensed in the State of Arizona as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Pharm Tech Cert Board – required.
  • AZ Pharmacy Tech license – required.
  • Ability to relate collaboratively, courteously, and constructively with patients, co‑workers, physicians, and administrative and healthcare team staff at all levels.
  • Ability to effectively provide work direction to others.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet assigned goals.
