Job summary

The Insurance Department of the State of Georgia is seeking a Compliance Specialist I to investigate reports and complaints concerning insurance agents licensing. Under general supervision, you will review, classify, and analyze data, exercise discretion in data classification, and determine actions including potential sanctions.

You will conduct investigations, collect evidence, interview witnesses, prepare detailed reports, and may testify at hearings.

Qualifications

Job Description

• Under general supervision, the Compliance Specialist investigates reports and complaints of criminal and non-criminal allegations with respect to insurance agents licensing.


• Review, classify, categorize, prioritize, and / or analyze data.


• Includes exercising discretion in determining data classification.


• Exercise judgement, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information against sensory, judgmental, or subjective criteria to determine the course of action for penalties to include license revocation.


• Request documents and collect evidence from outside agencies and other parties.


• Conduct investigative interviews.


• Compile detailed and accurate reports of findings and make recommendations for criminal prosecution or administrative sanctions.


• Attend and / or testifies at court hearings as needed.


• Conduct research needed to generate reports, complete projects and accurately respond to questions and concerns.


• Attend training sessions as required to gain skills and knowledge.


• Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.


• Perform customer service functions in person, by telephone, and by mail; provides information/assistance regarding department/division services and procedures.


• Provide professional representation for the Agency or Division during meetings, community outreach, and public contact.


• Perform other related duties as assigned.
