Job summary

Maritz in the United States is seeking a financial professional to manage project financials, invoicing, and compliance across client engagements. This hybrid role requires based in Cincinnati, OH or Santa Clara, CA with some travel.

You will support monthly closings, reconcile project details, and provide analysis to improve profitability, while ensuring adherence to GAAP and client contracts. Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and 0-2 years' experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
  • 0–2 years of experience in financial analysis, compliance, project accounting, or related corporate financial environments.
  • Strong understanding of financial practices, project financials, and ToV guidelines.
  • Proficiency in Excel with the ability to analyze, interpret, and reconcile financial data.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project financials, including revenue and gross profit tracking, cost reconciliation and updates within internal systems.
  • Prepare and review complex client invoices, ensuring accuracy and alignment with agreements to support positive project cash flow.
  • Reconcile project details in accordance with client/vendor agreements, internal policies, and ToV requirements.
  • Provide financial and compliance updates to Event Management and Account Managers, identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Complete monthly closing tasks, including research, follow-up, and detailed analysis of project data.

To be the primary point of contact for all project related financial, HCP ToV and regional sponsorship functions as it relates to: establishing and maintaining project files, cost tracking, project forecasting/reconciliation, invoice preparation, project scope changes, monitoring cash flow, working with event management and account teams to monitor the performance of projects by providing analysis of project data, compliance with client contracts, and providing the client with accurate and timely final billing.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Manage project financials, including revenue and gross profit tracking, cost reconciliation, and updates within internal systems.
  • Prepare and review complex client invoices, ensuring accuracy and alignment with agreements to support positive project cash flow.
  • Reconcile project details in accordance with client/vendor agreements, internal policies, and HCP ToV requirements.
  • Provide financial and compliance updates to Event Management and Account Managers, identifying opportunities to improve project profitability.
  • Complete monthly closing tasks, including research, follow-up, and detailed analysis of project data.
  • Serve as a resource for contract compliance, offering guidance to Account Teams, Event Managers, and Sales teams on policy requirements.
  • Maintain all required documentation for GAAP, internal audits, external audits, and client audit requests.
  • Support enhancements to SOPs, ensure SLAs are met, and may lead internal initiatives or assist with onsite or remote client support as needed.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Compliance, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience in financial analysis, compliance, project accounting, or related corporate financial environments.
  • Strong understanding of financial practices, project financials, and HCP ToV guidelines.
  • Proficiency in Excel with an ability to analyze, interpret, and reconcile financial data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to multitask and work independently on moderate to complex projects.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving systems, tools, and processes.
  • Nice To Have: Experience working with corporate auditors or supporting audit processes.
  • Nice To Have: Background in event, healthcare, or agency settings with compliance-heavy programs.
Working Logistics & Things You Should Know

This is a hybrid role requiring candidates to be based in either Cincinnati, OH or Santa Clara, CA. consistent onsite attendance will be required. Travel may be required occasionally to support onsite client operations or remote client meetings.
