Job summary

Propio Language Services in Overland Park, KS, is seeking a motivated Compliance Operations Intern for a nine+ week summer program. You will gain hands-on exposure to interpreter onboarding, credentialing, documentation, and compliance activities under mentorship.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, support external audit readiness, and develop skills in governance, risk, and audit processes while contributing to real client work and possibly advancing to full-time opportunities

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in a business, healthcare, compliance, legal studies, risk management or information systems field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Interest in compliance operations, governance, risk management, audit readiness, or process improvement.
• Active involvement in campus or community activities preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Interest in learning and contributing to Compliance Operations functions.
• Prior internship or office experience a plus, but not required.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Support interpreter onboarding and compliance documentation projects with organization, tracking, and quality checks.
• Assist with credentialing documentation and process improvements to enhance consistency and readiness.
• Support External GRC activities, including audit readiness preparation and evidence organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Compliance, Onboarding, Interpreter Quality, and GRC to understand how Compliance supports major business functions.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Operations Intern to join our team for the summer internship program. This internship provides hands-on exposure to several areas within Compliance Operations, including interpreter onboarding, interpreter compliance, credentialing documentation, translation oversight initiatives, compliance reporting, process improvement, and external audit readiness. The intern will be mentored centrally by the Compliance Operations leader while partnering closely with Interpreter Onboarding and Documentation and External GRC (Governance, Risk, Compliance) teams. This role is designed to provide a well-rounded experience that blends operational compliance work with governance, risk, and audit exposure, including support during external audit activities.
