sonnen seeks to hire a Compliance Engineer to join the Research and Development team based out of the Atlanta Innovation Hub to aid in the product certifications for residential ESS and related components.

The role involves collaborating with electrical, power electronics, and manufacturing teams to interpret standards, conduct testing, and guide design to meet UL, CSA, IEEE and NEC requirements during development.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a relevant field.
• 3–5 years of experience in product compliance and safety certification.
• Experience with UL, CSA, EN, IEC safety standards.
• FMEA, risk analysis, and software evaluation experience.
• Strong understanding of electromagnetic compatibility requirements.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
• Excellent communication skills across disciplines.

Responsabilidades

• Determine and interpret relevant regulatory standards for Sonnen products.
• Participate in design reviews for Li-ion battery storage systems to ensure compliance.
• Drive compliant design development and verify through testing.
• Educate teams on regulatory requirements for product lines.
• Organize project documentation and coordinate with NRTLs.
• Develop test plans and conduct safety/performance testing.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to implement post-certification follow-up.
• Ensure interconnection tests per IEEE 1547 standards.
• Maintain lab setups and implement improvements where needed.
• Support regulatory matters in designated market area.
