Job summary

Rain is seeking a Compliance Engineering Specialist to bridge regulatory obligations with our technical systems. You will work closely with Legal, Compliance, and Engineering to ensure the platform adheres to AML, KYC, BSA, and related regulations—embedded in product design and operations.

You will translate regulatory language into technical requirements, develop monitoring and due-diligence workflows, and act as the technical expert during exams and audits.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in compliance engineering, fintech compliance, or a similar technical compliance role.
• Working knowledge of US financial regulations: BSA, AML, KYC, OFAC sanctions, and FinCEN requirements.
• Hands-on experience with transaction monitoring systems, identity verification workflows, or watchlist screening tools.
• Ability to read and reason about code (Python, SQL, or similar).
• Experience translating regulatory language into technical requirements or acceptance criteria.
• Strong written communication skills for engineering audiences and regulators.
• Experience using SQL, data analytics, and reconciliation techniques to validate compliance controls.

Responsibilities

• Translate regulatory requirements into technical specifications for engineering teams.
• Partner with product and engineering to design, build, and maintain compliance systems and controls.
• Review technical implementations for regulatory gaps and own remediation efforts.
• Develop and maintain compliance analytics, data quality controls, and data reconciliation processes.
• Serve as the technical SME during regulatory exams, audits, and third-party assessments.
• Stay current on evolving regulatory requirements in the US and international markets.
• Write and maintain technical compliance documentation, runbooks, and policies.
• Support SARs, CTRs, and other regulatory reporting workflows from systems and data perspectives.
