Job summary

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi seeks a Compliance Coordinator to support compliance activities and operations in adherence to laws. Key responsibilities include monitoring compliance, training team members, and administering the HIPAA Privacy Program.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree and have at least 3 years of related experience, preferably with knowledge of HIPAA. We offer a competitive benefits package valued at one-third of total compensation.

Qualifications

Job Summary

The Compliance Coordinator supports the Manager, Corporate Compliance; Director, Legal Operations; and the General Counsel in managing corporate compliance activities and operations to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal laws governing Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi and its subsidiaries. This includes developing and maintaining corporate compliance policies, procedures, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Proactively monitor compliance activities governing the Company’s business.
• Provide and document training on compliance matters.
• Support the Manager in oversight activities.
• Administer the corporate HIPAA Privacy Program and the Privacy Office.
• Manage the Blueway Code of Conduct and the Compliance Hotline.
• Maintain Other Compliance Reporting.
• Administer Ethidex Compliance Office Software.
• Conduct OFAC and Exclusion list monitoring.
• Perform compliance reviews to ensure Group and Member compliance with Company requirements.
• Support vendor contracting compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher).
• Minimum of 3 years work experience in healthcare or compliance.
• Prior experience in a similar compliance role.
• Strong preference for experience with HIPAA Privacy Rules.
• Excellent research, organizational, and oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to present information clearly and concisely to various personnel levels.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to handle confidential information and projects.
• Ability to manage people and complex situations professionally.
• Ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
