Job summary

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) – McGriff Specialty is seeking a Compliance & Regulatory Analyst in Birmingham, AL. You will provide compliance and regulatory services to the McGriff team, handling contracts, agreements and regulatory matters across carriers and producers.

You will collaborate with colleagues, support licensing, taxes and market conduct, and travel occasionally. A bachelor’s degree and strong communication skills are essential for this role within our hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training and work-related experience.
• Knowledge of the agency management system and accounts receivable system.
• Strong client relations and excellent communication and service orientation.
• Leadership skills to guide and develop others and motivate productivity.
• Ability to negotiate with clients to obtain information, commitment or payments.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to travel, occasionally overnight.
• Surplus Lines Tax experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide compliance and regulatory services to McGriff teammates.
• Handle carrier/intermediary approvals and contracting.
• Manage broker service agreements and outside producer agreements.
• Oversee BAAs, NDAs, surplus lines taxes, licenses and carrier appointments.
• Contribute to market conduct matters and related compliance activities.

A day in the life.

As our Compliance & Regulatory Analyst on the McGriff Specialty Team, you'll provide compliance and regulatory services to McGriff teammates. Areas of responsibility may include carrier/intermediary approval and contracting, broker service agreements (fee agreements), outside producer agreements, business associate agreements (BAAs), non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), surplus lines taxes, insurance licenses, carrier appointments, and other compliance and market conduct matters.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training and work-related experience
• Considerable knowledge of company agency management system/accounts receivable system, all company computer applications
• Strong client relation skills to build and maintain positive business relationships with clients; including excellent communication skills and service orientation, cooperative nature, and tactfulness to resolve client and company problems
• Ability to utilize leadership skills by providing direction, constructive feedback, development and training while additionally being able to motivate others to maximize productivity and team morale
• Ability to persuade and negotiate with clients to obtain information, commitment or payments
• Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
• Ability to travel, occasionally overnight

The applicable base salary range for this role is $54,700 to $101,900.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
