A leading company in IoT and connected transportation is seeking a Compliance & Mobility Specialist to ensure adherence to global compliance policies. The Compliance & Mobility Specialist will collaborates closely with People Operations, Legal, and Payroll to offer advice and solutions for global compliance and mobility matters. Furthermore, this role contributes to developing global employment and mobility practices that support our business and talent strategy by conducting in-depth research on industry and regional best practices.
Act as a point of contact for People Operations and internal stakeholders on mobility and employment compliance queries.
Support the administration of our global mobility program, including any temporary and permanent relocations, ensuring alignment with our company policies, procedures and global talent objectives.
Partner closely with internal and external legal counsel to manage any case escalations ensuring Geotab's adherence to work authorization requirements, while mitigating non-compliance risks and facilitating timely company initiated work permit or visa renewals.
Monitor, interpret and track any employee-related regulatory changes impacting global workforce operations (e.g., immigration, tax, and labor laws), proactively updating internal stakeholders, processes and records.
Monitor assignment status, visa expirations and deadlines escalating concerns to the Lead Compliance and Mobility Partner.
Prepare, maintain and organize accurate documentation for internal and external audits, while ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
Assist with HR compliance reporting and regulated programs (Pay Equity, OSHA, Employment Equity etc.).
Maintain and update HR compliance policies, programs, and documentation.
Track, schedule, and audit mandatory HR training, ensuring up-to-date completion records.
Assist in streamlining the I-9 process and provide support to the background check program as needed.
Assist in research, data gathering, and reporting for compliance initiatives and stakeholder needs.
Support a safe and compliant workplace through health and safety efforts and documentation.
Support Geotab global strategic initiatives and vendor relationships.
3-5 years of experience inGlobal mobility, immigration, employment law, or HR compliance within an international organization.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration or a related field.
Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in related field may be substituted.
In-depth knowledge of global mobility/immigration, cross-border tax, labour law, and remote work compliance.
Navigating ambiguous mobility/compliance related situations and providing practical and scalable solutions related to employment.
Understanding key regulatory areas such as pay transparency, pay equity, and basic employment and labor laws.
Familiarity with international immigration and labor laws, as well as global mobility practices like relocation and employee transfers.
Ability to assist with audits, Request for Proposal (RFP), HR compliance reporting, and documentation.
Strong time management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills for collaboration and task management.
Proficiency in using software programs, including Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
