Geotab is seeking a Compliance & Mobility Specialist to assist the Lead Compliance & Mobility Partner in implementing and overseeing global compliance and mobility policies, ensuring adherence to legal requirements across various locations. What you'll do

The Compliance & Mobility Specialist will work closely with People Operations, Legal, and Payroll to provide advice and solutions on global compliance and mobility issues. Additionally, you will help develop global employment and mobility practices that support our business and talent strategies by conducting in-depth research on industry and regional best practices.

How you'll make an impact
  • Act as a point of contact for People Operations and internal stakeholders on mobility and employment compliance queries.
  • Support the administration of our global mobility program, including relocations, ensuring alignment with company policies and global talent objectives.
  • Partner with legal counsel to manage case escalations, ensuring compliance with work authorization requirements, and facilitating timely work permit or visa renewals.
  • Monitor and interpret employee-related regulatory changes affecting the global workforce, updating stakeholders and processes accordingly.
  • Track assignment statuses, visa expirations, and deadlines, escalating concerns as needed.
  • Maintain documentation for audits and ensure timely submissions.
  • Assist with HR compliance reporting and regulated programs such as Pay Equity, OSHA, and Employment Equity.
  • Update HR compliance policies and documentation.
  • Schedule and audit mandatory HR training, maintaining accurate records.
  • Support streamlining of the I-9 process and background check programs.
  • Conduct research, data gathering, and reporting for compliance initiatives.
  • Support health and safety efforts to maintain a compliant workplace.
  • Assist with strategic initiatives and vendor relationships globally.
What you'll bring to the role
  • 3-5 years of experience in global mobility, immigration, employment law, or HR compliance within an international organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Equivalent education and/or work experience may be considered.
  • Deep knowledge of global mobility, immigration, cross-border tax, labor law, and remote work compliance.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous situations and provide practical solutions.
  • Understanding of key regulatory areas such as pay transparency, pay equity, and employment laws.
  • Familiarity with international immigration, labor laws, and mobility practices like relocations and transfers.
  • Experience assisting with audits, RFPs, compliance reporting, and documentation.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills for collaboration and task management.
  • Proficiency in software, including Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
