Job summary

Salary range for this position is $28.37 - $34.84 / Hour.

DUTY STATEMENT AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Functions

Compliance Program Support

  • Assist in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the organization's compliance program.
  • Monitor compliance activities to promote adherence to applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and contractual requirements.
  • Support compliance initiatives through participation in audits, monitoring activities, and corrective action processes.
  • Stay informed of changes in regulations and industry standards affecting healthcare and substance use disorder treatment services.

Policy and Procedure Management

  • Assist with the development, review, and revision of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Support the dissemination of compliance-related policies and ensure staff have access to current guidance and resources.
  • Help maintain policy management systems and documentation.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Conduct routine compliance reviews and monitoring activities to assess adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with preparation for external audits, accreditation surveys, and licensing reviews.
  • Support responses to regulatory inquiries, investigations, and record requests.

Training and Education

  • Coordinate and deliver compliance-related training and educational activities.
  • Assist departments in understanding compliance requirements and implementing best practices.
  • Promote compliance awareness through regular communication and educational initiatives.

Risk Assessment and Corrective Action

  • Participate in compliance risk assessments and monitoring activities.
  • Track corrective action plans and assist departments in implementing remediation efforts.
  • Assist in investigating compliance concerns and documenting findings.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare reports and summaries related to compliance initiatives and program performance.
  • Assist in collecting and analyzing compliance-related data and metrics.

Ethics and Confidentiality

  • Promote ethical conduct and organizational integrity.
  • Protect the confidentiality of client, employee, and organizational information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Consistently apply trauma-responsive practices to promote safety, trust, and healing.

Other

  • Provide quality service to clients as required by Cedar House Life Change Center, State, and County Requirements.
  • Maintain timely and reliable attendance.
  • Perform life-saving measures when needed to protect the lives of Cedar House clients and employees.
  • Consistently applies trauma-responsive practices to promote safety, trust, and healing.
  • Required to train or assist in the trainings of co-workers as needed.
  • Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in compliance, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, healthcare administration, behavioral health services, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a healthcare, behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, or social services setting preferred.
  • Experience conducting audits, monitoring activities, investigations, or policy development preferred.
  • Be certified upon hire under an accredited drug and alcohol certification program, CAADE, CADTP, or CCAPP (preferred) or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.

Education:

  • Completed twelve years of education or have a GED.
  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, public health, psychology, social work, compliance, criminal justice, or a related field (preferred).
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Complete continuing education and trainings as required by Cedar House, County, and State mandates.
  • Maintain current CPR/First Aid/AED.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Have a thorough understanding of the nature of alcohol/drug addiction and its recovery process
  • Knowledge of state, county, and CARF substance use disorder treatment facility standards.
  • Resourcefulness, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time. They will also need to move around inside the office occasionally to access filing cabinets, office machinery, etc. The employee must be capable of operating a computer and other office productivity machinery. There may be occasions where the employee needs to climb up or down a ladder or equipment and position themselves to maintain files in file cabinets. It is essential for the employee to communicate information and ideas clearly so that others can understand. They must also be able to provide accurate information in these situations. The employee should be able to observe details at close range and occasionally move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds for various reasons. Additionally, the employee may need to work around or be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
