Job description

At Everly, our vision is to change the paradigm of insurance. We know life insurance can be confusing and complex. We know that most people purchase life insurance at a milestone moment and file it away for the future. We want to change how people think about, buy, and use life insurance by being a partner in life’s journey. We are focused on making things that matter, making meaningful connections, and making things work WAY better. Our goal is to provide radically transparent, consumer-first insurance solutions.

We are looking for people with a continuous improvement mindset. Those who think the opposite of “This is how we’ve always done it”. We want people on our team who are always asking “How can we do this better?”

Our company values are a guide to our behavior and help inform our decisions. We want people who embody those values of breaking down barriers, owning the outcome, embracing the journey, and sparking joy.

This is a remote position based in the US with occasional travel.

About the role

The successful candidate is willing to tackle matters outside their area of expertise, can resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways and has the ability and confidence to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is confident counseling business partners and making decisions that have both legal and business impacts.

The ability to prioritize, scope, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously is required. A facility with technology and comfort dealing in nuance are highly desired. Common sense, great judgment, a broad perspective and a good sense of humor are of great interest to us.

What You’ll Do
  • Customer Complaint Management: Investigate, document, and resolve customer complaints in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Regulatory Correspondence: Draft and manage responses to inquiries from state and federal regulators.
  • State Filings & Renewals: Prepare and submit required state filings; manage company appointment renewals and ensure timely compliance.
  • Regulatory Research: Monitor and interpret changes in insurance laws and regulations; assess impact and implement necessary policy updates.
  • Policy & Procedure testing: Test internal compliance procedures to align with evolving regulatory requirements.
  • AML Oversight: Monitor monthly transactional reports for suspicious or fraudulent activity.
  • Invoice Management: Organize and help prepare state regulatory invoices and fees for payment.
