Job summary

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in audits, strong communication, and a background in finance or auto finance.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience performing telephone audits.
  • 2+ years in office environment with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience in risk management, quality assurance, or compliance (preferred).
  • Experience in researching and responding to consumer complaints (preferred).
  • Knowledge of or experience in finance or auto finance (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Perform call monitoring and audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Research and draft responses to customer feedback or complaints.
  • Audit internal processes and identify risk areas and opportunities to mitigate risk.
  • Document audit results and communicate findings clearly.
  • Assist in policy and procedure development to ensure regulatory alignment.
  • Support special projects and remediation efforts of audit findings.

We’re looking for a Compliance Specialist to join our rapidly growing remote team.

What You’ll Do:

The Compliance Specialist position is responsible for performing call monitoring and other audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulatory guidelines. This position also assists with researching and drafting responses to customer feedback or complaints. This position works in conjunction with the Sr. Compliance Manager, Auto Approve Management and internal stakeholders to drive compliant processes across the organization. Responsible for promoting a strong code of ethics and integrity within the company through auditing, documentation of audit findings and the remediation of audit findings. The role’s day-to-day duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Performs audits of internal processes including, but not limited to, telephone communications with consumers (call monitoring) and daily account management
  • Performs targeted audits of select Auto Approve processes by understanding organization objectives, structure, policies, processes, internal controls, and external regulations; identifying risk areas and opportunities to mitigate risk
  • Assists with the research of issues brought to our attention by customers, contacting customers directly for additional information, de-escalation of difficult customer communications and the drafting of written responses to customers
  • Assists with the assessment of risks and internal controls by identifying areas of non-compliance; evaluating manual and automated processes; identifying process weaknesses and inefficiencies and operational issues
  • Assists with the development and amendment of policy, procedure and process documentation to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements through discussions with internal stakeholders and the development of current/optimum processes and controls
  • Completes audit work papers and memoranda by accurately and effectively documenting and communicating audits results and findings
  • Assists in identifying gaps or opportunities for improvement in current processes
  • Perform special projects as assigned

What You’ll Need:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience performing telephone audits
  • 2+ years in office environment with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Work and academic record reflects high motivation for success working both independently and part of a team
  • Previous experience indicative of a high degree of organization and attention to detail, with demonstrated success in juggling multiple assignments and ability to meet deadlines even with shifting priorities
  • Able to sift through complex process material to extract and organize relevant information for documentation purposes
  • Strong professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
  • Experience in an applicable risk management, quality assurance, or compliance environment (preferred)
  • Experience in the area of researching and responding to consumer complaints (preferred)
  • Knowledge of or experience working in the finance or auto finance industry (preferred)

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work : This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are variable and based on business need. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Physical Requirements : This position is indoors. Must be able to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period. May be asked to lift approximately 25 lbs. Exposure to moderate noise and light, i.e business office with computers, phone, printers, light foot traffic.
