Responsibilities

The Compliance Analyst maintains an ongoing, working knowledge of all applicable federal and state rules and regulations related to certified electronic health information incentive programs.

They contribute to and follow the annual department work plan.

Involvement in audit and data validation preparation and participation is expected.

The Compliance Analyst often works with the Indiana Department of Health and other external resources to ensure continuous reporting within the requirements of federal and state laws.

Consistent effective communication is essential along with thorough documentation.

Interpretation of rules published in the Federal Register is facilitated through research, participation in webinars, and meetings with Epic technical support and regulatory experts.

They may participate in projects requiring Epic build and subject matter expertise regarding regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Applicants for this position should be able to collaborate with others in a team setting, have excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude toward problem-solving.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus on clinical, business or IT required.
  • In lieu of the above education requirements, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience healthcare or information systems.
  • 1 year experience with EHR Incentive Program regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Epic Certification strongly preferred.
  • Must obtain EpicCare Ambulatory or EpicCare Inpatient Clinical Documentation; Cogito; Cogito Tools Administration required within eight months of hire.
  • Epic Regulatory Reporting Badges in Objective Measures Badge; Quality Measures for Eligible Clinicians; and Quality Measures for Eligible Hospitals required within two months after Epic Certificates complete.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills required to interact effectively with all hospital and medical staff, credentialing, as well as external contacts.
  • Strong skills in use of technology and project management tools.
  • Experience using EPIC EMR.
  • Experience with solution focused problem solving and ability to think through problems creatively.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Change management experience.
