Job summary

MITRE’s Complex Systems Department (L644) seeks an Associate Complex Systems Modeler to apply modeling, analytical, and research skills to national‑importance problems in healthcare, security, and transportation.

The role involves building models, simulations, and analytic tools, and collaborating with government sponsors to deliver actionable analyses. On-site 3 days per week; US Citizenship and Top Secret clearance required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field or related with computational experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to apply, modify, and formulate rigorous models and processes.
• Applied expertise or academic experience in leveraging analytic methods on structured and unstructured data.
• Experience manipulating large datasets with at least one modern programming language.
• Experience using visualization tools to analyze multi‑dimensional data.
• Must be eligible for Top Secret clearance and be a U.S. citizen.
• On-site work a minimum of 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and develop models, simulations, and analytic tools for real-world problems involving complex dynamic systems.
• Develop research questions and test hypotheses with open-ended tasks.
• Collaborate with government sponsors to understand challenges and evaluate solutions.
• Develop and apply analytic models; adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Present results in an intuitive, actionable way for diverse audiences.
• Stay current on modeling, data science, visualization, and engineering tools.
