Job summary

  • Experience in oncology, surgical services, interventional specialties, or other complex care environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules multiple related appointments in a specific sequence and timeframe based on clinical requirements.
  • Interprets provider orders, treatment plans, and clinical workflows to ensure appointments align with care protocols.
  • Proactively identifies scheduling conflicts, delays, or barriers and coordinates with clinical and operational teams to resolve them.
  • Serves as a liaison between patients, providers, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to ensure care plans are executed as intended.
  • Escalates urgent or time-sensitive scheduling issues to maintain continuity of care.
  • Documents scheduling activities in the EHR and scheduling systems with accuracy.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and departmental guidelines.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve scheduling workflows and patient experience.

This position schedules and coordinates multiple interdependent patient appointments across departments in accordance with clinically defined pathways, provider protocols, and timeframes. Supports patients undergoing complex diagnostic, procedural, or treatment plans where sequencing, timing, and coordination are critical to care delivery. Qualifications
  • Minimum of one (1) year of healthcare scheduling, patient access, or care coordination experience required.

  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare workflows and medical terminology required.

  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and departmental guidelines.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve scheduling workflows, reduce delays, and enhance patient experience.

Schedule

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.

PRN positions (also referred to as Casual, As Needed, or Per Diem) at Logan Health offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods, employee absences, and vacations, making them an excellent opportunity to support the team as needed. PRN employees can participate in a matching 401(k) plan and have access to the Employee Assistance Program. Additionally, they may qualify for hourly differential pay for certain shifts or hours, offering extra compensation based on department-specific scheduling needs. Pay rates and scheduling practices may vary by department.
