Job summary

Wayne Farms LLC in Mississippi seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on large manufacturing equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems and conveyors. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair machines, record parts, and coordinate with managers to schedule routine service.

You will work with a safety-minded team, wear PPE, and follow company policies while contributing to uptime and efficiency on the production floor.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; vocational certificate preferred.
• Ability to take and pass internal required testing.
• Ability to read schematics/blueprints to diagnose problems with manufacturing equipment.
• Good communication skills, multi-lingual strongly preferred.
• Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency.
• Ability to work safely and follow PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines, including cleaning, oiling, lubricating, changing belts as necessary.
• Identify root cause of unexpected breakdowns and repair quickly to reduce downtime.
• Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts; order and install replacements.
• Prepare reports documenting work performed.
• Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and maintain shop areas, tools, and supplies.
• Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
• Collaborate with department heads regarding new products and modifications.
• Make modifications and test runs; discuss results with product manager and adjust as needed.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions.
• Wear PPE in all areas where mandatory and promote zero-accident culture.
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
