Job description

Complex Liability Claims Specialist

Zurich is seeking an experienced claims adjuster to join our Complex Liability Claims team.

This is a fully remote position available anywhere in the US. The role involves managing complex commercial high-exposure auto and general liability claims and litigation, including bodily injury, property damage, personal injury, and advertising injury. The Claims Specialist will proactively manage claims and litigation in line with our Best Practices while providing excellent customer service. Regular communication with customers, brokers, Business Units, and senior Claims management is required.

The ideal candidate will have experience handling high severity injury claims and litigation across multiple jurisdictions, with strong time and caseload management skills, and the ability to document claim files accurately in compliance with best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of experience managing commercial general liability and/or auto claims and litigation, including high severity claims, or
2. Juris Doctor with 2+ years of relevant experience, or
3. Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 6+ years of relevant experience, or
4. Completion of Zurich Claims Training Program with 6+ years of experience in Claims or Litigation Management, or
5. High School Diploma or Equivalent with 8+ years of relevant experience and required adjuster licenses.

Preferred Qualifications:

• JD, SCLA, AIC, or CPCU certifications
• Experience working collaboratively across teams
• Excellent communication skills
• Expertise in severe bodily injury and property damage claims in multiple jurisdictions
• Strong coverage, claim evaluation, and negotiation skills
• Proven organization and time management abilities
• Ability to work independently

At Zurich, compensation varies based on location, role, skills, and experience. The proposed salary range for this position is $75,000 - $130,000, with a 15% short-term incentive bonus.
