We are currently recruiting for a Construction Defect Claims Specialist. This position is remote. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

Summary

Conduct investigations of complex construction defect claims, analyze coverage, and develop facts of loss. Promote organizational success through building relationships with agencies, policyholders, and the insured.

Responsibilities

• Investigate construction defect losses, identify coverage, evaluate liability and damages, review construction contracts, legal documents, and pleadings.
• Engage experienced independent adjusters, engineers, counsel, or other experts, monitor and control costs.
• Review and interpret commercial General Liability policies; communicate coverage issues verbally and in writing.
• Develop proactive plans to conclude claims through timely damage evaluation, negotiations, and settlements.
• Update agents, policyholders, and internal stakeholders on claims status as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial property construction defect loss adjustment.
• Extensive claims knowledge related to General Liability bodily injury and property damage claims.
• Insurance education and designations such as AIC and CPCU are preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong partnership-building and collaboration skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
