Job description

THE OPPORTUNITY

Williams Parker is seeking an experienced Complex Commercial Litigation Attorney to join one of Southwest Florida's most respected and sophisticated litigation practices.

This opportunity is intended for an accomplished litigator whose practice includes complex commercial litigation, business disputes, real estate litigation, trust and estate litigation, creditor/debtor disputes, receiverships, and other significant civil litigation matters.

For more than a century, Williams Parker has served as trusted counsel to businesses, families, institutions, and community leaders throughout Florida. Our litigators combine strategic judgment, courtroom advocacy, and practical business insight to help clients resolve their most consequential disputes.

We welcome candidates with exceptional litigation skills, sound judgment, strong client instincts, and a desire to contribute to a collaborative and growing practice. A portable book of business is welcomed but not required.

THE WORK YOU WILL DO

As a member of Williams Parker's Litigation section, you will:

  • Resolve complex business disputes. Represent businesses, owners, fiduciaries, lenders, developers, investors, and individuals in commercial litigation involving contracts, business torts, shareholder disputes, partnership disputes, and related matters.
  • Handle real estate, trust, and probate litigation. Represent clients in disputes involving real estate transactions, trusts, estates, fiduciary relationships, inheritance matters, and related controversies.
  • Advise clients through insolvency and creditor rights matters. Represent creditors, debtors, receivers, trustees, and other stakeholders in bankruptcy-related litigation, creditor/debtor disputes, receiverships, and workout matters.
  • Lead matters from strategy through resolution. Conduct depositions, manage discovery, draft and argue motions, work with experts, evaluate settlement opportunities, and prepare matters for mediation, arbitration, and trial.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor. Help clients navigate disputes affecting businesses, investments, fiduciary relationships, and family wealth.
  • Collaborate across practice areas. Work closely with attorneys throughout the Firm to deliver practical, integrated solutions and exceptional client service.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU WILL BRING

You bring the litigation experience, strategic judgment, and client-focused mindset required to handle sophisticated disputes, including:

  • Strong litigation foundation. Approximately 8+ years of private practice experience focused on complex commercial litigation and related civil disputes.
  • Experience handling sophisticated matters. Significant experience with business disputes, real estate litigation, trust and estate litigation, creditor/debtor matters, bankruptcy-related litigation, receiverships, or similar complex litigation.
  • Ability to independently manage cases. Experience leading matters through discovery, motion practice, mediation, settlement, and trial preparation.
  • Courtroom and advocacy experience. Experience taking depositions, arguing motions, managing evidentiary proceedings, and participating in trials, arbitrations, or mediations.
  • Sound judgment and strategic thinking. Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate persuasively and effectively with clients, courts, opposing counsel, mediators, and colleagues.
  • Professional credentials. Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and active Florida Bar membership (or eligibility for admission).

A PLATFORM BUILT TO ENDURE

Williams Parker offers accomplished litigators the opportunity to practice within a highly respected litigation platform known for sophisticated work, exceptional colleagues, and enduring client relationships.

  • A century of excellence and a reputation earned through results. Join a Firm that has served businesses, families, and institutions for more than 100 years and has become one of the most respected legal organizations in Southwest Florida.
  • Complex disputes that challenge and engage. Handle sophisticated commercial, real estate, fiduciary, insolvency, and business litigation matters requiring strategic thinking, creativity, and advocacy at the highest level.
  • Colleagues who elevate the work and one another. Collaborate with accomplished attorneys across Litigation, Corporate, Real Estate, Trusts & Estates, Tax, and Labor & Employment practices in a culture that values accessibility, mentorship, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • The opportunity to build the practice you have envisioned. Assume meaningful responsibility, deepen your litigation skills, cultivate trusted advisor relationships, and advance your career within a platform designed to support long-term professional success.
  • Relationships measured in years, not engagements. Serve clients whose relationships with the Firm often span decades and multiple generations, creating opportunities for deep understanding, trusted counsel, and enduring impact.
  • A growing market for sophisticated litigation counsel. Practice in one of Florida's most attractive and dynamic regions while representing clients throughout Southwest Florida and beyond.
  • Service grounded in judgment, responsiveness, and trust. Join a Firm known for practical advice, careful judgment, professionalism, and a commitment to helping clients navigate their most consequential challenges.
  • Community stewardship with lasting consequence. Become part of a Firm whose attorneys serve as trusted advisors, civic leaders, and stewards of the businesses, institutions, and organizations that shape our region.
  • Resources that protect the value of an attorney's time. Benefit from strong administrative, marketing, technology, knowledge-management, and practice support resources that enable attorneys to focus on providing exceptional client service.
  • A rewards package commensurate with the opportunity. Receive market-leading compensation, comprehensive health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance benefits, and an Employee Savings Plan and 401(k) with employer contributions.
