  • Experience with oral arguments strongly preferred.
  • Experience taking and/or defending depositions.
  • Significant party and third-party discovery experience.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Ability to work collaboratively while independently managing assignments and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Handle complex commercial litigation matters through various stages of the litigation process.
  • Conduct sophisticated legal research and draft high-quality briefs, motions, memoranda, and other litigation documents.
  • Develop persuasive advocacy and written arguments in support of client objectives.
  • Manage case-related deadlines, strategy, and day-to-day litigation responsibilities.
  • Take a lead role in oral arguments as appropriate.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Manage and participate in substantial party and third-party discovery.

Direct Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 4--7 years of experience to join a well-respected national law firm's sophisticated Litigation practice in its Dallas office. The firm offers attorneys the opportunity to work on complex, high-quality matters in a collaborative and personalized environment, with meaningful client contact, professional development, and opportunities to take on increasing responsibility.

Position Overview

The Litigation Associate Attorney will join a multidisciplinary litigation team handling sophisticated complex commercial disputes, with a particular emphasis on energy litigation and energy regulatory matters. The ideal candidate will have strong research, writing, and advocacy skills, along with experience managing cases and taking an active role in oral arguments, depositions, and discovery.

This role provides the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners and sophisticated clients while participating in client-facing activities and business development initiatives.

Responsibilities

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $230,000--$265,000 annual base salary.

Work Arrangement
