Complex Claims Director - Coverage and Mass Tort Claims

How You Will Create An Impact

As an experienced professional, you will handle sophisticated litigation and coverage issues, including construction defect, toxic tort, mass tort, environmental, long-tail bodily injury, and property damage claims, especially under Coverage B of Primary/Excess CGL policies. You will manage emerging risks such as PFAS, opioids, and other cutting-edge issues. Your role includes advising Casualty adjusters, managers, and underwriters, supported by a dedicated management team focused on achieving optimal claims outcomes and your success.

• Evaluate coverage on complex insurance products
• Hire and manage counsel for coverage evaluation and defense
• Assess damages with outside experts
• Evaluate financial impacts to AIG and insureds
• Formulate strategies for favorable resolutions; negotiate with insureds and third parties
• Advise business partners on exposures and product changes
• Guide claims and business leaders on emerging risks

What You’ll Need To Succeed

• 6+ years of experience in Legal, Insurance, Construction Defect, or Environmental fields preferred
• Ability to handle complex claims involving diverse GL and Environmental coverage issues
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, negotiation, and investigative skills
