Make your mark in Casualty Claims

This role involves managing complex litigation and coverage issues, including long-tail bodily injury, property damage, Coverage B under Primary/Excess CGL policies, environmental, and toxic tort claims. You will handle emerging risks like PFAS, opioids, and more, serving as a coverage resource for claims professionals and underwriters. You will be supported by a management team committed to achieving optimal claim outcomes and your success.

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluate coverage on sophisticated insurance products
• Hire and oversee counsel for coverage evaluation and defense
• Assess damages with outside experts
• Evaluate financial impacts to AIG and insureds
• Develop and execute strategies for favorable claim resolution; negotiate with insureds and third parties
• Advise business partners on exposures and product enhancements
• Guide claims and business leaders on emerging risks

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in Legal, Insurance, Construction Defect, or Environmental fields (preferred)
• Ability to handle complex claims involving diverse coverage issues related to GL and Environmental policies
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, negotiation, and investigation skills
• Veterans are encouraged to apply

Compensation and Benefits

For Jersey City, NJ, and New York City, NY, the salary range is $105,000-$132,000. For Illinois, the range is $104,600-$127,600, with eligibility for bonuses. See the 2025 Benefits Summary for details.
