Job summary

Reality Labs at Meta is seeking a Software Engineer, Systems ML - Compilers to lead the architecture and implementation of ML compiler infrastructure for custom AI accelerators in AR/VR hardware. You will drive LLVM/MLIR-based toolchains and optimize PyTorch models for silicon targets.

You will collaborate with hardware teams to maximize performance and power efficiency, mentor engineers, and shape the compiler roadmap across multiple teams. Strong C++ and GPU/TPU experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in developing compilers, toolchains, or code optimization software.
• Experience with LLVM, MLIR, or similar compiler infrastructure frameworks.
• Experience with hardware architectures such as GPUs, TPUs, or custom AI accelerators.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and implementation of ML compiler infrastructure, including IRs, optimization passes, and code generation.
• Design and implement compiler transformations informed by hardware constraints for various accelerators.
• Drive LLVM/MLIR-based toolchains for PyTorch model compilation to optimized binaries for custom silicon.
• Collaborate with hardware architects to maximize performance, power efficiency, and programmability for edge devices.
• Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of compiler toolchains for new targets.
• Lead technical roadmapping for compiler infrastructure and mentor engineers on design patterns.
• Conduct design and code reviews and resolve compiler and cross-disciplinary issues.
• Interface with PyTorch and ExecuTorch teams to evaluate innovations.
