Our client, a $3B professional services organization, is seeking a Competitive Intelligence Analyst to join its Business Development Department and serve as a research and market monitoring resource for select practice areas. Partnering with business development colleagues and professionals across the firm's business departments, the analyst will keep a close watch on clients, prospects and the broader market, delivering insights that uncover new business opportunities and deepen client relationships. Success in this role calls for intellectual curiosity, sharp analytical judgment and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out competitive intelligence and market research across companies and industries to inform business development efforts
- Analyze internal and external data to spot emerging market trends and potential business development opportunities
- Distill information from multiple sources into clear, concise and actionable deliverables
- Help develop analysis and business development content for pitches, client opportunities, strategic planning and other practice-facing projects
- Gain in-depth familiarity with the firm's service offerings, clients and prospects to flag and share actionable business development opportunities
- Help set up, refresh and track news alerts covering clients, prospects and other relevant entities using the firm's available resources
- Work alongside the firm's Business Intelligence team on detailed research into companies, industries, market developments and emerging trends
- Team with senior business development professionals and colleagues at every level on research and monitoring initiatives, building insight into the firm's expertise, clients, engagements, competitors and market position
- Help keep prospecting trackers, monitoring tools and other business development resources current and continually improved
- Become proficient in the firm's internal systems and data resources and combine them with external research
Qualifications:
- 2 to 5 years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research or business development support, delivering data and insights that drive marketing or lead generation
- Experience working in a large professional services environment, including but not limited to financial services, consulting, legal, marketing, advertising, market research and/or technology
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively across teams and departments
- Sharp analytical and critical thinking skills with an exceptional eye for detail
- Intellectual curiosity and a team-oriented approach
