Job summary

Wellpath / Correct Care Solutions seeks a Director of Competency Restoration Services to oversee administration, management, and development of competency restoration programs across multiple locations. This role designs standardized program models, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports implementation and optimization of operations.

The position provides clinical leadership, staff development, and quality improvement initiatives within a correctional healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration, management, supervision, and development of competency restoration programs across multiple sites.
  • Design and standardize Jail-Based Competency Treatment (JBCT) and competency restoration program models, including clinical protocols and workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, accreditation standards, contractual requirements, and licensing standards.
  • Develop staffing models, support budgeting and forecasting, and contribute to RFPs and new business opportunities.
  • Provide clinical leadership through supervision, training, mentoring, quality monitoring, and performance improvement initiatives.

How you make a difference

The Director of Competency Restoration Services oversees the administration, management, supervision, and development of competency restoration programs across multiple locations. This role is responsible for designing and standardizing competency restoration service models, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the successful implementation and optimization of program operations. The position provides clinical leadership, operational oversight, and strategic direction to support high-quality, evidence-based competency restoration services. The Director also leads staff development, quality improvement initiatives, and program expansion efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the administration, management, supervision, and development of competency restoration programs across multiple sites.
  • Design and standardize Jail-Based Competency Treatment (JBCT) and competency restoration program models, including clinical protocols, treatment pathways, and operational workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, accreditation standards, contractual requirements, and licensing standards.
  • Develop staffing models, support program implementation, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and contribute to RFP and new business opportunities.
  • Provide clinical leadership through supervision, training, mentoring, quality monitoring, performance improvement initiatives, and corrective action planning.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Doctorate in Psychology

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years professional experience; correctional healthcare preferred.
  • Experience developing and managing competency restoration programs strongly preferred.
  • Multi-site support experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Trained and independently licensed.
  • Licensed to practice psychology in the state(s) where oversight is being provided by the appropriate state licensing board.
  • Current (and must maintain) CPR certification.
