Job summary

LHH is seeking a Compensation Specialist to join its Human Resources team in Newark, NJ. This hybrid role focuses on market data analysis, compensation program support, and advising HR and business leaders on equitable pay practices.

You will conduct market pricing, review salary recommendations, maintain job descriptions, and provide actionable insights from labor market data. The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of compensation experience and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
2-4 years of compensation or related HR experience.
Strong knowledge of compensation principles, market analysis, salary surveys, and job evaluation methodologies.
Experience making compensation recommendations for new hires, promotions, and salary adjustments.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong overall proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Experience with HRIS systems preferred.
Banner and ServiceNow experience are a plus.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct market pricing and compensation analyses for new and existing positions.
Review and evaluate salary recommendations for new hires, promotions, transfers, and other compensation adjustments.
Create, update, and maintain job descriptions and job classifications within the organization's job framework.
Research salary surveys, labor market trends, and compensation data to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
Support HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition with compensation guidance and market intelligence.
Respond to compensation-related inquiries and document requests and outcomes within service management systems.
Utilize knowledge base resources to provide accurate and timely responses to internal stakeholders.
Assist in the administration of compensation programs and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
Partner collaboratively with HR colleagues and stakeholders across the organization.
Escalate complex compensation issues to senior team members when appropriate.
