The Role
Metropolis is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Compensation Manager to join our People team.Reporting to the Director of Compensation, the Compensation Manager will have both day-to-day andstrategic responsibilities, including the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programsand processes. This role offers a unique opportunity for a self-starter to own and drive complex compensationinitiatives while contributing to the overall success of our organization. The ideal candidate will be aresourceful problem-solver with a strong understanding of compensation best practices and the ability tothrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Responsibilities

  • Manage the development, implementation, and administration of compensation policies andprograms, including base pay, short-term incentives, and long-term incentives.
  • Conduct job evaluations and salary surveys to ensure competitive and equitable compensationpractices, with familiarity using Radford compensation data structures.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and business leaders to provide compensation guidance andsupport, including developing offers, analyzing compensation trends, and addressing compensation-related inquiries.
  • Independently manage complex compensation projects, from conception to implementation, ensuringalignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a resourceful self-starter, proactively identifying and developing solutions to diversecompensation-related problems and tasks.
  • Analyze compensation data, prepare reports, and make recommendations to ensure ourcompensation programs are effective and aligned with our compensation philosophy.
  • Stay current on compensation trends, best practices, and relevant legislation to ensure complianceand competitiveness.
  • Manage multiple competing priorities effectively, demonstrating the ability to pivot and adapt asbusiness needs evolve.
  • Develop and deliver compensation training and communication materials to employees andmanagers.
  • Participate in the annual compensation planning process, including merit increases, bonus payouts,and equity grants.
  • Ensure data integrity within HR systems related to compensation.
  • Collaborate with other HR functions, such as Benefits, People Operations, Payroll, and TalentAcquisition, on related initiatives.


Qualifications
  • Proven ability to work independently on complex compensation tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in office 4 days a week
  • Three to five years of progressive experience in Compensation; additional Human Resources experience(payroll, benefits, HRIS) preferred
  • Demonstrated experience as a resourceful self-starter in identifying and implementing solutions.
  • Ability to find process-driven solutions in ambiguous situations.
  • Familiarity with Radford compensation data structures and survey methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levelsof the organization.
  • Proficiency in presentation development

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (advanced Excel skills) and HRIS systems (e.g. AS400, Dayforce,Workday, and/or Oracle HCM)

The anticipated base salary for this position is $125,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually. The actual base salary offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. Base salary is one component of Metropolis’s total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a lucrative stock option plan, bonus plans and more.
