Job summary

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (AOI) in Sugar Land, TX, is seeking a Compensation & HR Reporting Analyst to join the team.

You will transform ADP Workforce Now data into executive dashboards and provide workforce insights to support compensation strategy, salary administration, and planning. This role requires advanced Excel, experience with market pricing and internal equity analyses, and collaboration with HR, Finance, Payroll, IT and leadership to deliver accurate reporting and continuous

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of compensation analysis experience, including 3+ years in manufacturing or a similarly complex hourly payroll environment.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, or similar tools.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a comparable HRIS.
• Experience with market pricing, salary surveys, compensation benchmarking, and internal equity analysis.
• Knowledge of compensation principles, practices, and applicable regulations.
• Strong analytical, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead compensation analysis for promotions, market adjustments, merit increases, transfers, and new hire offers.
• Review/edit internal job descriptions to ensure compensation alignment to market.
• Conduct manufacturing compensation benchmarking and salary surveys.
• Maintain salary structures, pay grades, and compensation guidelines.
• Perform internal equity, pay compression, and market competitiveness analyses.
• Develop executive dashboards and HR metrics using ADP Workforce Now data.
• Create recurring reports for headcount, turnover, compensation, overtime, hiring, retention, labor costs, and workforce trends.
• Build advanced Excel dashboards, forecasting models, and automated reports using Power Query, Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, and Power Pivot.
• Present workforce analytics and compensation recommendations to HR and executive leadership.
• Partner with Finance, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, and Operations on strategic reports and working with large data sets to simplify workforce planning decisions.
• Recommend process improvements and reporting automation.
• Other duties as assigned.
