Job summary

Mill Valley Veterinary Clinic is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our animal care team. You will assist veterinarians, manage patient care, and help maintain a compassionate and well-organized clinic environment.

You may also support Customer Service responsibilities to ensure outstanding client service and smooth daily operations. A team-focused, patient-centered attitude is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience- 1 year (preferred).
• Veterinary or professional animal care experience- 1 year (preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Outstanding interpersonal communication skills.
• Highly organized; able to multitask in a fast paced setting.
• Strong computer experience; learns new programs with ease.
• Comfortable interacting with animals of all breeds and sizes.
• Follow rotating work schedule (e.g. nights, weekends and holidays).
• Reliable and dependable; maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Strong work ethic; sets high standards for self and others.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to patients and clients to build relationships and enhance the clinic’s reputation.
• Greet clients and pets on arrival, manage check-in and inform about wait times.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, diagnoses and treatment phases.
• Support a positive and clean environment and ensure clinic compliance with policies.
• Assist in training staff on veterinary technician tasks and procedures.
• Maintain clean exam rooms, surgery suite and other clinic areas.
• Follow leash guidelines and communicate behavior expectations to dogs.
• Educate clients on animal health care and keep accurate medical records.
• Support client service representatives to maintain smooth daily operations.
