Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospitals is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, educate clients on pet health, and help maintain a safe hospital environment. This role involves ensuring accurate medical records, assisting with procedures, and mentoring fellow paraprofessionals. Weekend/evening hours may be required.

The ideal candidate has NAVTA-credentialed training, at least 18 years old for radiography, and a willingness to multi-task in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant program.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography (x-ray).
• One year related experience required with customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians to maintain flow of patients.
• Educate clients about pet health and wellness plans.
• Educate clients and obtain history to maintain medical charts.
• Assist with procedures and monitor hospitalized or surgical pets as allowed by state acts.
• Mentor paraprofessionals in the hospital.
