Job summary

All Pets Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support our fast-paced, 3-doctor practice that cares for companion animals and small pocket exotics.

You will assist veterinarians and technicians, prepare exam rooms, obtain patient histories, and help educate owners on pet care. You will help restrain and monitor pets during procedures and contribute to a high-quality, compassionate care team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program preferred.
• One year of experience in a pet care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and prepare exam rooms, medical equipment, and surgery between each appointment.
• Obtain initial patient information, medical histories, vaccination records, and reason for visit; document and update records.
• Calm, soothe, comfort, and restrain pets before, during, and after procedures.
• Provide owners education, resources and information on pet care as directed by veterinarians.
• Monitor and track pet’s status and vital signs following surgery; report as needed.
• Assist with routine lab tests, medication administration and client education under supervision.
• Maintain professional, caring, and confidential handling of client information.
