Job summary

PetVet Care Centers Providence South Animal Hospital in Waxhaw, NC, is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks. You will help with patient care, restraint, prep and sanitation, and clerical duties to keep the hospital running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• Veterinary knowledge and animal restraint.
• Understanding of animal husbandry and vaccine protocols.
• Preferred skills include blood and sample collections, monitoring anesthesia, client communication and customer service, vaccine and medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and owners, take weight and vital signs.
• Triage, perform physical exams and treatments as directed by licensed staff.
• Calm and soothe anxious patients; assist with medications and restraints.
• Perform labs, radiographs, and operate hospital equipment.
• Maintain medical records and hospital cleanliness; promote services.
