Job summary

Cleveland Animal Protective League is hiring a Veterinary Assistant I to support the shelter clinic and animal care operations. The role involves assisting with check-in/out, handling animals for exams, and supporting daily cleaning and sterilization tasks to maintain a safe environment.

You'll work closely with veterinarians, RVTs, and clinic staff, providing friendly client service and accurate recordkeeping while complying with safety protocols and the APL mission to protect animals.

Qualifications

• Accurate typing and data entry skills.
• Ability to work with animals, disinfectants, and cleaning supplies.
• Excellent communication skills with clients and staff.
• Fear Free Certification or willingness to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

• Assists with client and animal check-in and discharge.
• Assists with animal handling for exams and procedures.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments and maintains equipment.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized clinic area.
• Updates animal records in PetPoint and supports daily tasks.
