Petco in Ohio is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to provide excellent medical care to Vetco Total Care patients and outstanding service to their owners. You will support veterinarians with exams, surgeries, dentistry, and patient monitoring.

You must have at least 1 year of veterinary experience, strong communication, and a team-oriented mindset. The role requires compassionate care, basic computer skills, and the ability to keep the clinic clean and organized.

Qualifications

• Preferred at least 1-year prior veterinary practice experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate, professional demeanor under stress.
• Telephone and computer skills required.
• Team player willing to learn and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, record vitals and EMR.
• Assist doctors with exams, surgery, dentistry and euthanasia.
• Restrain patients, collect samples, dispense medications.
• Schedule appointments and educate clients.
• Maintain records and assist in anesthesia monitoring.
• Train new staff under supervision.
• Keep hospital clean and organized.
