Aptos Creekside Pet Hospital, part of PetVet Care Centers, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks. Responsibilities include preparing surgery areas, restraining patients, assisting with medications, and maintaining clean, organized facilities on site in Aptos, CA.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 6 months experience working in a veterinary hospital as a veterinary assistant.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients
• Greet patients and owners, weigh and record vital signs
• Triage patients, assist with exams, treatments, and medications
• Calm anxious patients and assist doctors/technicians with procedures
• Perform lab tests, take radiographs, and operate hospital equipment
• Fill prescriptions and maintain medical records with proper documentation
• Clean and maintain the hospital, kennels, and equipment daily
• Groom and bathe patients staying overnight and ensure proper release
• Promote hospital products and services; respond to directions promptly
