Petco is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our Vetco Total Care hospital team in San Diego. You will greet clients and pets, collect vitals, and document histories in the EMR while assisting veterinarians with routine and emergency procedures.

The role supports anesthesia, patient care, and client education in a fast-paced setting. Qualified candidates have 1 year of veterinary experience, strong communication skills, and a compassionate, team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Preferred 1 year of experience in a veterinary setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate and sympathetic with professional demeanor.
• Strong telephone and computer skills; team player.
• Experience with veterinary EMR systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, record vitals and histories in EMR.
• Assist doctors with routine and emergency procedures.
• Handle medications, book appointments, and maintain records.
• Prepare patients for procedures and monitor during anesthesia as directed.
