Job summary

Sarasota Veterinary Center is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician/Nurse to assist veterinarians in medical care for feline and canine patients in Sarasota, FL. The role includes maintaining records, assisting with exams and procedures, and coordinating with owners to support preventive care.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of veterinary technician experience.
Saturdays on rotation required.
Experience in advanced surgery is encouraged.

Responsibilities

Collect and record client and patient information.
Advise and educate clients on preventive care.
Perform routine procedures including blood draws and IV catheter placement.
Administer vaccines or other treatments as directed by DVMs.
Admit patients, provide estimates and release forms.
Perform laboratory evaluations and record results.
Fill and refill prescriptions.
Position pets and process digital radiographs.
Surgical prep, monitoring, and pack/gown repack.
Perform dental hygiene procedures under supervision.
