Lansdowne Animal Hospital in Leesburg, VA is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exams and outpatient visits while ensuring compassionate patient care and great client experiences.

The role emphasizes exam room management, accurate medical records, client education, and collaboration with veterinarians. Flexible full-time schedule, with 4x10 or 5x8 shifts, Monday–Friday and rotating weekends, plus a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant or related role preferred.
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint.
• Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles.
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures.
• Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining weights and vital signs.
• Phlebotomy & SQ injections.
• Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols.

Responsibilities

• Supporting efficient exam room and outpatient workflow to ensure exceptional patient and client care
• Maintaining accurate, thorough medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Supporting veterinarians during outpatient procedures and treatments while providing high-quality patient care
• Building positive relationships with clients through education, communication, and attentive service
