Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking a Part-time Van Driver at Eldora Specialty Care in Eldora, IA. Join a compassionate team serving residents across multiple communities in Iowa.

You will safely transport residents to appointments and events, assist with boarding, and coordinate pickups while maintaining a clean vehicle and reporting any concerns to the nursing staff. Flexible weekend hours are available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Driver’s License with Class D – Chauffeur Endorsement.
• Not more than 2 traffic violations within the last 3 years.
• No prior DUI convictions.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and events.
• Assist residents with boarding/exiting the van, including wheelchair securement.
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle (fuel, fluids, basic supplies).
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs.
• Communicate daily with nursing and facility teams.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends.

Education

Driver's License (Class D)

CPR/First Aid Certification

Clean driving record (≤2 violations in 3 years)
