Job summary

Foundation Communities is seeking a Van Driver in Austin, TX for full-time, on-site work. The role supports residents by providing safe, reliable transportation to medical appointments, employment services, and community activities, helping overcome barriers to housing stability.

The position requires a Texas driver’s license, at least one year of driving or customer service experience, and the ability to perform vehicle inspections and maintain logs.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record per Foundation Communities' insurance requirements.
• Minimum of one year of professional driving and/or customer service experience, preferably transporting passengers or working with diverse populations.
• Ability to provide respectful, trauma-informed, and customer-focused service to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to safely operate a passenger van, conduct routine vehicle inspections, and maintain transportation logs.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Must complete Foundation Communities' driver qualification process, including driving assessments and annual evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation for residents to appointments and essential services.
• Provide scheduled weekly transportation for residents to grocery stores and other locations.
• Transport resident groups to community outings, educational or recreational activities, and events.
• Deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism, respect, and courtesy.
• Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle inspections and report safety or maintenance concerns.
• Maintain assigned vehicle, fuel levels, cleanliness, and coordinate maintenance.
• Safeguard vehicle resources, including fuel cards, keys, and documentation.
• Follow Foundation Communities policies on vehicle operation and driver safety.
