Job summary

Smith County Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking a Transportation Aide to safely transport residents to appointments and events, assist them on and off vehicles, and ensure comfort during trips. The role includes supporting the care team when not on the road and maintaining a warm, dignified environment in the facility.

We value compassionate, patient individuals who can communicate in English, follow safety protocols, and work with minimal supervision to protect resident well-being and comfort.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Valid State Driver’s License with clean driving record (no more than three entries).
• Strong independence and decision-making with minimal supervision.
• Clear and professional communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Confirm and schedule doctors’ appointments for residents.
• Arrange and provide transportation to appointments, events, and outings.
• Notify family members of appointment arrangements.
• Process administrative transfers and discharges.
• Record resident vital signs and related data.
• Use proper body mechanics when lifting or transporting residents.
