Job summary

Smith County Nursing and Rehab is seeking a Transportation Aide to safely transport residents to appointments, assist them in and out of the vehicle, and ensure their comfort throughout the trip. When not on the road, you’ll support the care team and help create a warm, respectful environment within the facility.

The role emphasizes compassionate, patient service with strong English communication and the ability to work with minimal supervision to ensure resident safety and dignity.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license preferred.
• Current CPR certification required to respond to emergencies during resident transport.
• Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record (no more than three entries).
• Must communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Transport residents to and from appointments and events.
• Assist residents in and out of the vehicle and ensure their comfort.
• Notify family members of arrangements regarding appointments.
• Perform clerical tasks related to transfers and discharges.
